I drive home with the roof down since temp is 38.5

Well this is the temp on the dash of the EOS - I had the roof down so this is as real a temp as I get.
They say the hottest time of the day here is from 2 to 6 at night.  We walk at lunch since it is cooler then than after work.  So much for high noon.  Not the same when you are this close to the border.

Beautiful morning

Just sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee organizing my files.  Figured I would upload more details of the house just for my records.  Sorry for the boring details.  A guy from work and his wife are coming over tonight to play cards.  I have never met his wife and Jim has never met either.  He is one of our new programmers and just moved down from Dallas so they do not know anyone here either so it will be nice to have visitors.
Finally put in the last cupboard in the kitchen.  I think this is the one from the garage on Tuesday.  The granite counter tops are supposed to come in this week so it made it just in time.

Toilet paper rack

Ensuite towel racks

spare bath towel rack

Ensuite towel rack on other side

Spare bath other towel rack

Back to the beach and grading the yard

stopped at the house on the way to the beach.  This is looking on the angle across the street.  On the top of the hill on the right is the 7th tee box.  Jim said when he golfed on Friday he could see the house from there.

The workers
were at the house grading the yard.  This is the back

This was the calmest I have ever seen the water.  The sand was really clean and fluffy too.  The water was super warm.  The high tide was 8 am so all day we got more and more beach as the tide went out.  The sky was so clear we could see more and more of the oil rigs way out in the water.  There were lots of fish in the water too.  They were about a foot long and swimming in schools of 6 to 10 of them.  You could see them every where when you were in the water.  Jim and I played catch with the foot ball a lot in the water to stay cool.  It was 93 degrees when we got there but got hotter.

This is the view from where we sit in our chairs.  Jim is in the chair on the left and my chair on the right.  Those hoods for shade are awesome.

Here is the front of the house with the other bobcat grading the front yard.

towel racks and toilet paper racks and the other cupboard in the kitchen were the only new things since Tuesday inside.

to give you an idea of the  street... lots of construction going on.  These are 5 houses.  Ours is the middle one.  The far two are supposed to be done in June  The first two August I think.

Six flags water park

Weather was iffy today so I went to the water park instead of the beach.  It is only 15-20 minutes from here so easy to go and spend an afternoon.  Now I am wiped with all the sun and water.
Spent a lot of time on the lazy river
Did the loop de loop on this one then had to lay down for awhile

Vegged out by the wave pool for awhile then played in the waves.  Lots of fun.

House progress - lighting and tile

Stopped by the house today and the men were laying the ceramic tile.  This is the ensuite.  Note the outlets are moved up and covers on... they just have to fix the hole.  Also the light above where the mirror will go is in.

Tried to get a picture of the fan light that they installed in the living room but hard to see it.  Still needs a globe on it.  Forgot to look up in the master to see if the fan is in there yet or not.

This is coming in the front door... nice tile in so far

They use the garage as their work shop.  Piles of tile on the right.  The other cupboard for the kitchen is gone from there but not in the kitchen... a mystery... maybe it wasn't our cabinet after all.  Not sure where that door goes.  Maybe in the ensuite to close off the toilet or maybe it is for a different house

hallway to the bath on the right and the third bedroom straight ahead.  The bedrooms will get carpets some day.

Jim supervising ;) from the kitchen  Without the other cupboard in the kitchen yet we got tile in that area.  Maybe that is why it is not in there yet.  At least we assume there is a cupboard to go in the left then the stove.

Second Bath lighting put in but still the sink is still gone.  Lighting same as ensuite just one light less

Light put on outside of house next to garage door.  We think the hole under it is for the house numbers.

Dining and half of living room done in the tile so far.  I bet they got done today so then they can groute on Monday.

tile where fridge will go

tile in pantry

What a difference tile makes when you first walk in instead of seeing the cement floor slab

Went for a Drive to Luling see lulingcitymarket.com

Had a nice morning/afternoon drive to the house and  Luling and then drove into this on the way home.  Got home just in time before the major part of the storm hit.  We are not getting it as bad as the surrounding areas but we did put the roof up when we saw we were driving into this.  It was 33 degrees so it was nice to be in a convertible but still quite warm even driving 70 miles an hour with the roof down.
This is the water tower in Luling.  It used to be painted like a watermelon because of the big watermelon pits spitting contest that they have every June but now it is camouflage and says it is for the service men and women

It is hard to see but this is a cow jumping over the moon.  As the Oil Rig goes up and down the cow goes up and over the moon..  They have many oil rigs in Luling all decorated.  One is a big bird going up and down looks like he is dipping his head down to get water.  One of them has jack and jill on them.  If you google Luling you will see lots.

This is inside Luling City Market Restaurant... best Brisket and Ribs we have had to date.  Note the fancy seating area... it is all about the food.  People go through long line ups to get to where you order your food by the pound.  They weigh it and put it on brown paper.  You go to another line up to get drinks and side dishes and plastic knives and forks then find a place to sit and eat the best BBQ in texas....yes better than Salt Lick.

This is in the kitchen where they weigh your food for your order.  The bbq pits on the right with lids on them

This is the menu board.  Order by the pound hot or you can order the meat cold to go

closer look at the pits.  wood pile on the right ... to the left are the two covers with the counter weights up top that they pull down to lift the lids to put more in or take out some.

more 'fancy' seating area just in front of the kitchen

If you go there... remember cash only.  Salt Lick is cash only too.  I guess if they are good enough they don't need to provide credit.
