Went for a Drive to Luling see lulingcitymarket.com

Had a nice morning/afternoon drive to the house and  Luling and then drove into this on the way home.  Got home just in time before the major part of the storm hit.  We are not getting it as bad as the surrounding areas but we did put the roof up when we saw we were driving into this.  It was 33 degrees so it was nice to be in a convertible but still quite warm even driving 70 miles an hour with the roof down.
This is the water tower in Luling.  It used to be painted like a watermelon because of the big watermelon pits spitting contest that they have every June but now it is camouflage and says it is for the service men and women

It is hard to see but this is a cow jumping over the moon.  As the Oil Rig goes up and down the cow goes up and over the moon..  They have many oil rigs in Luling all decorated.  One is a big bird going up and down looks like he is dipping his head down to get water.  One of them has jack and jill on them.  If you google Luling you will see lots.

This is inside Luling City Market Restaurant... best Brisket and Ribs we have had to date.  Note the fancy seating area... it is all about the food.  People go through long line ups to get to where you order your food by the pound.  They weigh it and put it on brown paper.  You go to another line up to get drinks and side dishes and plastic knives and forks then find a place to sit and eat the best BBQ in texas....yes better than Salt Lick.

This is in the kitchen where they weigh your food for your order.  The bbq pits on the right with lids on them

This is the menu board.  Order by the pound hot or you can order the meat cold to go

closer look at the pits.  wood pile on the right ... to the left are the two covers with the counter weights up top that they pull down to lift the lids to put more in or take out some.

more 'fancy' seating area just in front of the kitchen

If you go there... remember cash only.  Salt Lick is cash only too.  I guess if they are good enough they don't need to provide credit.
