Greetings from Rainy Texas

Another rainy day in Texas.  We were going to go to the beach today but this  morning the forecast changed and it is supposed to be raining down there as well.  We went shopping for a fridge, lunch at Whataburger, checked out the house and then went to a flea market.  There are two flea markets near our house so we just walked around one of them for something to do.  There is a third one down there too that is supposed to be bigger but we haven't found it yet.  We haven't looked for them really until we move and then we will be able to pick some things up for the house but no use getting it today and then having to move it.  Went to the other Sears home depot here which on line indicated it was bigger and it is a lot bigger than the one near where I work.  They have a lot of fridges so we will have no problem getting one there when we move.  They were busy at the the house again this week.  They did a lot of repainting the patch work that they have been doing on the plaster walls.  Lots more touch ups to be done but still time.  They finished the back splash in the kitchen, plastered the island, put in the shower, installed the mirror in the master, put the sink back in in the spare bath, put the number on the front of the house, door handle on the furnace  and put up some of the braces on the fence.  There were no workers in our house.  The supervisor said that they were to work on the carpets this week as well as getting the air conditioner to work.  Went to the office and confirmed that we are getting a gas stove.  The appliances are black shiny which there are a lot of fridges to match in the stores so all good.

House Update

Jim was just there yesterday at 1 and we went to the house today at noon and lots completed in the last 24 hours.  We now have a Furnace, Gas, Faucets, all of the fence posts, globe on fan light, toilets, smoke detector, shower rack, garage door opener

Looks like one tree is on our side of the fence but the other two are right on the border.  Guess we will see when the fence goes up

Kreuz Market in Lockhart

www.kreuzmarket.com Went to Lockhart today for brisket and pork ribs.  This was supposed to be better than Luling.  We found the food the same but the place was a lot nicer than Luling.  Enjoy the pictures.  The kitchen was huge with 4 times as many ovens as Luling.  I got pictures of the flames and the guy putting in the log into the fire.  The furniture that you eat on is a lot nicer too.

It may be hot out side but they really crank up the air conditioning.  38.5 in the car in an earlier post while at my desk it is between 69 and 70 all of the time.  Have to wear heavy sweaters all the time

Jim dropped by the house after golf today.  Granite counter tops are in, air conditioner, fence posts and electricity and some of the plumbing
