More details on the sinks and counters in washrooms

This shows how the sink and the counter top in the washrooms are all one piece

Same set up in the other bathroom with the sink embedded

Oops - the counter goes above the electrical so I guess the electrical guys will have to come back

Got this double sided sipper cup from Whataburger for my birthday.  Everyone with a birthday this month was able to go and pick out what they wanted out of this big basket.  I picked the glass since the normal glasses down here sweat too much with the heat and drip water on the coffee table.  I also could pick two coupons for free meals - either breakfast taquitos or burgers so I took the breakfasts.  They are a shell wrap around egg, cheese and choice of potatoe(hash browns), bacon or sausage.  They are really good.  On thursday is the birthday cake for all of us and the whole IT dept goes in the room to eat and sing happy birthday.  Two huge cakes and a bunch of cupcakes to feed the whole dept. since there are over 100 of us just in IT.  Each dept has their own each month.  Very nice gesture.
We drove down to check out the house today but there is no difference.  I don't think that they did anything this week so no new picture updates.  We went shopping for fridge, water softener, lawn hose, sprinker,  lawn mower etc... just seeing what is out there so we know where to go when we move in... Went along Military drive... reminds me of Merivale Road.  Much better to find  things for shopping than up where we live now where it is all freeways with difficult side roads.  Found all the stores we will ever need all on the one strip so we are set.

Stopped by the house on the way to the beach today

We went to the beach again today so stopped by the house on the way to see the progress.  They told us yesterday that the cupboards were in and the mechanical comes next week whatever that means.  The door was open so now we have pictures of the inside progress.

This is our new house that is being built.
It should be done in July sometime.  It is a three bedroom bungalow in Mission Del Lago subdivision around the Golf Course.  We are not right on the golf course ... just in the neighbourhood.  The Pool complex should be built by spring 2016.  This is in the south end so it is  45 minutes closer to my happy place... only 30 minutes from work

Tried to take a picture through the window but didn't work very well

Back door from down below where another house will be built.

trees in back yard - they give us 3 more plus shrubs etc.

Island in the kitchen only half done so far... will be ceramic tile floor granite counter tops and carpets in bedrooms

I am taking the week long course this week at our training centre  It is a really nice building ... all new fixtures etc and excellent training rooms.  Nice to be in a class far from the office so we can concentrate and just ck our emails on break etc to help and do our real job.  I am learning the Real Estate Module.  Hydro never used it so I never had the opportunity to learn it before.  We could have really used this when I worked at Met Life and was costing out all of the Common area costs and billing them to the tenants.

Found some more pictures on Jim's camera that I didn't know he had taken.  The dots out there in the big waves are James and I having a blast diving into the waves and trying to ride them.  We threw a ball around too... if you missed it it ended up at shore before you could catch up to it.

On Jim's walk with the dog one day he sees the deer above
and the next day in the same spot he sees the snake below

Not sure if it was a rattler but VERY BIG.
It was just down the hill from us in the next Apt Complex.

This flew over our apt today.  Really close.

Note the lack of safety equipment... Jim shakes his head every time he sees this
Huge snail that was on the pilar outside our apt one morning after a rainstorm.
I guess it is true that everything is bigger in Texas

Had a great time with James while he was here.  Picture up top is when we went to the Riverwalk.  It was chilly that day but that was ok because we went there after going to the Zoo.  It would have been very hot to walk around the zoo if it had been hot.  We had perfect weather for everything that we did.

Of course we took James to the Salt Lick to have a good old Texan BBQ.  He loved the sausages.  This time we got to go in the other side which I thought was just the winery but it is another dining hall.  That place is huge.  Before we went to the Salt Lick we went Tubing on the Comal River.  There are two rivers near New Braunfels where you can go tubing.  We went to the shorter calmer one.  There are three chutes.  Jim walked around the first two but James and I did them all.  I went flying through the first one.  I was under water and decided to save my sun glasses and let the tube and my hat go.  James waited and saw I was ok and went for my hat and tube.  They were above the current  and I went flying down about 100 ft and couldn't make it back up because of the current from the chute.  James ended up above the current so had difficulty getting down with two tubes and my hat since it kept pushing back up stream.  I tried to grab a railing to stop going down any more but couldn't hang on.  Finally I put my feet down and held my ground until James got to me finally.  Lots of kids just keep going up and down the chute all day.  We did the 3 hour float but did it in 2 hours because the current was so strong.  There was a huge storm on the Fri night so it closed on Sat and opened Sun afternoon.  We went on Monday.  It was great.  Saw lots of nature and cool houses on the shores.  Reminded me a lot of kayaking without the work.  A bus picked us up at the bottom of the river and drove us back to the start where the car was.

Tubing on the Comal River

Yes Jim went tubing with us
Of Course we took James to my happy place.  James and I went in the water lots.  The water was warmer than the pool in this apt building.  We played in the waves a lot, threw a ball around and floated.  Saw people catching a lot of fish.  Saw fish jumping out of the water and then one trip into the water James saw a stingray!!! right in front of him in the sand.  It puffed up and swam away.  We drove over to Port Aransas for James to see the dolphins swimming by the ferry.  The line was too long for the ferry so we saw the dolphins and then drove back to drive over the causeway.  Below is the Rhino from the Zoo.  None of us ever remember seeing one before.  They are huge.  James got here 4 a.m. Sat so we hung out by the pool at the apt and had a BBQ.  He said it was like we were living in a resort.  We played cards by the pool on his last day here too.  Went for walks around the complex.  Took him to the airport this morning on my way to work and got a text that he is home sweet home.  Great time had by all.  He didn't even mind sleeping on the living room floor on the air mattress.  Great time now back to just swimming, golfing and working.  Take care all!!!
