DCI = Drum Corp International -South West competition

The show this year didn't seem to be as spectacular as last year.  They did somewhat just as much but I knew what to expect this time.  Not sure why they call it South West Competition since there were corps from all over the US.  None from Holland this year though.    I took a lot of videos so lets see how many of them are small enough to fit on the blog.

Dolphins swimming by on the beach

Another great day on the beach with new first.  Normally we only see the jelly fish washed up on shore. Today we saw both a white one and a blue one swimming by us in the water.  I like them better on shore since they are easier to avoid there.  The best thing was the dolphins swimming by.  There were at least two of them since we could see them coming up for air.  They were really close to shore.  They were not even out past the end of the peer which was weird since the tide was out when they were there so they were really in close.  I took a video in which I am talking and say I saw them while I was taping but I can't see them on the video so who knows where I was pointing the camera.  It was really sunny so it is hard to see what you are taking a picture of.  So I tried to load the large video but it is too large for the blog.  I loaded two of the small ones so you can see a pelican fly by but you have to use your imagination I think to see the dolphins

A lot more people doing the horse ride now that it is summer.  Normally there were only a few at a time

Nice set up.  Put up the tarp tent one of the days for shade too. Sparky enjoyed his tent

Sparky looks like he was smiling.  One day pit bull put his nose in Sparky's tent so Sparky chased him up into the Dunes.  Sparky bit him twice on the way up so he wouldn't come down until I took Sparky away.  Its owner couldn't believe that Sparky would take on a Pit Bull and that his dog was afraid of Sparky.  He may be old but he still rules his territory

Saturday's release - there were over a thousand people there so we didn't get to see the turtles very close 

Went back on Monday and got close up since there were hardly any people there

Pillow to match

I had some wool leftover so made a pillow to match the bedspread.
