Went to Bancroft for the York River Paddle challenge on the weekend.  This is us mulling around the start line

This is Ruth and Judy crossing the finish line.  Yes I beat them but mainly because they stopped to have a swim on the way.  I guess we are not serious racers.

These are the boats from the serious guys.  The one next to the tree won the 25km and the one beside it came second.  They beat some of the 12km guys and the 25 guys had to run a km portage.  we lifted one end of one of these two and it was as light as lifting a pop can.

This boat can take 10 paddlers but actually two people paddled it the whole way.  More went out in it at the finish line area just for fun.

This is our camp site... 3 vehicles and 3 tents but I forgot to take the picture until after we took up our tents.

This is the best out house in the whole world...see below.

Thats right... flush toilet, running water, mirror, paper towels, light switch.....

Beach area at our campgrounds ... this is where the 25 km guys started.

More docks and boats for rental at the campsite.

This is the name of where we stayed.  It rents cottages as well.
Awesome weather all weekend long.  Met lots of really nice people and had a great time.
